Nikila is originally from the island of Oahu, yet was raised primarily in the Bay Area neighborhood of Eastside San Jose. Inspired by an earth-based wisdom of roots and culture, she is a self-taught multimedia artist, community organizer, mother, and advocate for youth, Indigenous, and environmental rights; Thus, birthing the alias “MamaWisdom".
Nikila currently resides in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she co-directs the urban arts youth mentorship organization 808 Urban, and is a freelance artist under the guise of MamaWisdom1 LLC. As a singer, she performs and records with various world and underground hip hop music projects, and is an artist-advocate for political prisoners via "Hip Hop's Contribution to the Freedom Campaign".
